Client Work'nWoman's Home

Blog

Do you remember #ClientWork’nWoman?  If not you can find her office here ! We have been curating this home room by room over the past few years.  This project started when the home was purchased, it was about 8 years old at the time.  So the finishes were fairly new and the space was well designed with lots of natural light and high ceilings.  We suggested different paint colors, a few hardware changes, and a new kitchen countertop.  Other than that, this space was good to go!  The first two rooms we tackled were the 2 kid’s bedrooms. The kids are older so the rooms are more of a personal space and ret... See More

Olde Farmhouse Bathroom

Blog

Tada! Here are the before and after shots of our bathroom.  This was the other half of our first major renovation at our OldeFarmHouse.  The first half was the nursery and that blog can be found here.  This is my house, so I can poke fun at the ridiculous trends of the past it showcased.  Enjoy as I point them out:) There was carpet in the bathroom..GROSS!!  We removed that immediately, well once we knew there was a sufficient enough flooring under the carpet to last until we could renovate.  Check it out…white with baby blue and pink graphics, speckled with silver sparkles…wowza!  You can even see how t... Client Cozy Modern

Blog

I am hopeful that today was the first of many warm days to come! I thought it would be fitting to publish the blog post on clientcozymodern’s sunroom with all the feels of Spring in the air! We actually designed a super cute and super cozy living, kitchen, foyer, and dining room for clientcozymodern, thus the nickname…I just need to photograph the project 🙂 This sunroom had a great clean slate to start with.  There were a  few goals for the space.  The first was to provide opportunities for the Mama to showcase her flowers, potted plants, and bouquets.  She owns Sweet Stems, and is a terrific florist... Little Annie's Room

Blog

Let the renovations begin ! This is my first post on our #OldeFarmhouseFlip.  As promised on Instagram, I mentioned that I would be pretty transparent on this post in terms of life as newlywed millennials taking on and living in a home while renovating 🙂  My goal is to be informative and encouraging 🙂 So a little background info, we purchased a 100 year old farmhouse about 4 years ago.  The plan when we purchased was to completely gut and remodel the home.  We did not have an exact timeline, but we decided to moved in and make due.  The only changes we made were ripping out the carpet that was everywhere…... Cute Little Abode

Blog

It is easy to see why we came up with the Nickname and Hashtag for this project!  We were asked to update the Living room and Kitchen.  The clients wanted a cozy and “cottagey” feeling.  We were also asked to come up with a design that incorporated their current furniture pieces.  They had many antique to choose from and some beautiful family heirlooms to include.  With all this in mind, we changed all the finishes and were able to make those special pieces stand out.  The space already had a large picture window and great natural sunlight. The wood paneling provided great texture that I was excited to t... See More

The Dwelling Bnb

Blog

Nothing great is ever accomplished alone.  I was so encouraged by the supportive community around these clients.  Even down to late night cleaning sessions so they could open up in time, there were always friends and family lending a helping hand.  Those are just a small part of the values that built this Bnb and in the community it resides.  The Dwelling sits atop one of the many rolling hills in Amish Country, Holmes County, Ohio.  As always, function first then on to the “pretty” details.   ( I still cringe a little when I say the word “pretty”.  That adjective was so frowned upon in desig... Maranatha Bible Church

Blog

Introducing project 2RadYouthRooms (if you follow us on Instagram) ! This was such a wonderful project to be apart of. As you have probably guessed by now, this project was two separate rooms, one designed for Middle School students and one for High School students. This was a new build project as well. The goal was to unify both rooms with large pops of bold color but still make them unique spaces for the two different groups using them. The Middle School room is first, showcasing fun and youthful colors. The High School room needed to be fun and energetic, but also reflect a bit of maturity. Each youth group had recently... DIY Kokedama / Moss Spheres

Blog

These little sitting or hanging gardens are fun, beautiful, and get lots of attention.  Best of all, they are super easy to make! First things first, what you need.  Pictured below are: potting soil, plant of choice (Tulips), sheet moss, bakers twine, bowl, scissors, and water (not pictured).  Disclaimer, I was going to set up cute little styled pictures, but them I remembered, “Ain’t nobody got time for that.”  So I have decided, for now, my DIY post will have “DIY” photos 🙂  I mean, if you look hard enough above, you can see toothpaste splatters on my mirror.  I am not the only ho... ClientsMosaicMadhouse

Blog

Introducing one of my favorite projects so far, ClientsMosaicMadhouse!  A favorite thing about this job is designing spaces that are enjoyed by and bless many people.  From the beginning, I was super excited about this project because it was going to be just that.  This family loves hosting, and they are great at it! That is where the other half of their code name comes from. Mosaics because the wife/mama loves mosaic tile, but Madhouse because there was hardly a day when I stopped in that the family wasn’t hosting or that their children weren’t having friends over.  I was encouraged by their love for peopl...
